A note from mom

On Tuesday, I got to bring Mom home. She has had me running ever since. I told her either I need a break to write my newsletter article, or you can write one as a guest blogger. Guess which she picked! The answer is below.
Hello to everyone at Christ Church. It's Martha Williams reporting in. I just got out of Physical Health Rehab today. I have spent more time in the hospital and rehab since the first of the year than I have at home. I want to thank all of you for your prayers, cards, visits, food, and gifts. You have no idea how uplifting these have been.
I hope I will be able to see you on Sunday for Easter Service. I told Burt I did not think I'd ever missed being in church on Easter. As I think about the significance of Easter, I am so grateful for the amazing love of Jesus, offering Himself up as the Paschal Lamb so that all who believe in Him will be saved from their sins and spend all eternity with the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. But as great as the sacrifice was for Jesus on the cross, the Resurrection on the third day is even more amazing. That is what we will celebrate on Easter Sunday.
When Mary Magdalene went to the tomb on Easter morning and saw the stone rolled away, she assumed that somebody had stolen His body. Then, Mary encountered Jesus. She did not recognize him until he said her name. Jesus told her to go and tell the disciples the good news. She announced to the disciples that she had seen the Lord! Like Mary, sometimes we are moving in the wrong direction. But when Jesus calls us by name, we can move forward and be transformed more and more into the likeness of Jesus. Are there places in your life where you feel stuck in the mud? Do you need resurrection hope? Because of the resurrection, we can move forward one step at a time! Halleluiah, Christ is risen. He is risen indeed!
