Hope and Thanks

Hope arrives in little things....

Hey Church,

No great theological insights here today, just simple observations after a period of stress.  If you were unaware, my wife, Sharon, had a cervical spine fusion this week.  I had been in denial leading up to it that I was stressed out about it.  I now know I was after not sleeping much for the two days before and then sleeping for about 12 hours afterward.  Stress and worry sometimes come for us in ways that are difficult to elude.  But at the same time, hope shows up.

Hope shows up in the form of text, prayers, food, and offers of help that are genuine and heartfelt.  Hope arrives in little things that remind you that people care about you.  When these little things come from church people it reminds us that God cares about us too!!!

So, thank you to all who have been praying and continue to.  Thanks to those who have sent texts or comments to social media posts.  Thank you to those who have brought a meal or will be.  Thank you for being a supportive and caring church.

Sorry, this week, that’s all I got on this Tuesday night:  Hope in Christ, Hope in His Church, and a Thankful heart.

Peace,

Pastor Burt
